WHAT IS 'APOLOGETICS'?

Apologetics has to do with giving well reasoned answers for believing in Jesus Christ. The root meaning of the word is not to express regret - but to defend. A key New Testament verse is I Peter 3:15, "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." The word translated, answer, (or defense) is apologian in the Greek text. Apologetics has two main divisions: evidences and polemics. Evidences has to do with giving positive reasons for believing in Christianity, and polemics has to do with responding to criticisms of Christianity. Dr. Adler has been sympathetic to the Christian worldview for most of his intellectual life. He converted to Christianity In his early seventies.

Evolution: A Theory in Crisis Michael Denton (Adler & Adler)

One of the outstanding books in the English language that demolishes the theory of evolution as it is popularly presented. Shattering the Myths of Darwinism Richard Milton (Park Street Press)

The author has been a science reporter in England for more than twenty years. He is astounded and bewildered at the closed minds he encounters in the scientific establishment to a rational discussion of the mechanisms of evolution.
